Collection: Hot Car Magazines
Hot Car Magazine was a British automotive publication that ran from the late 1960s through the early 1980s. It focused on the UK's vibrant car tuning and customization scene, featuring a mix of DIY modifications, kit cars, competition coverage, and mild customizing articles. The magazine often provided early exposure to kit cars and was known for its newsprint-style pages, occasionally featuring colour photographs.
In October 1983, Hot Car was rebranded as Performance Car magazine, marking a shift in focus towards manufacturer-built performance vehicles. Early issues of Performance Car were titled Performance Car (incorporating Hot Car), acknowledging its origins.
Today, Hot Car magazine is no longer in publication, but vintage issues remain popular among collectors and enthusiasts interested in the history of car modification culture.
