Collection: Maxim Magazines
Maxim was originally a UK-based men's lifestyle magazine that launched in 1995. It became well-known for its blend of celebrity interviews, lifestyle articles, gadget reviews, fashion, and its signature photo spreads featuring models and celebrities. At its peak, Maxim was one of the most successful men's magazines in the world, expanding internationally with editions in several countries, including a prominent US edition.
However, like many print publications, Maxim faced challenges with the rise of digital media and shifting consumer interests. Circulation numbers began to decline in the late 2000s, as readers increasingly turned to online platforms for similar content. In response, the magazine went through several editorial and format changes, including a shift to more upscale content and design to appeal to a broader audience.
In the UK, Maxim ceased print publication in 2009 due to declining sales. The magazine's international editions, particularly the US version, continued to operate. The US version, however, also struggled, and in 2014, Maxim underwent a rebranding to focus more on luxury lifestyle content, with less emphasis on the model-centric spreads that once defined it.
