MuscleMag International was a powerhouse in the bodybuilding and fitness world, founded in 1974 by the legendary industry pioneer Robert Kennedy. Known for its bold covers and "hardcore" approach to training, it became one of the top three bodybuilding magazines globally, alongside Flex and Muscle & Fitness.

The magazine was famous for its high-energy content, including:

  • Hardcore Training: In-depth routines from IFBB pros and legends of the "Golden Era."

  • Nutrition & Supplements: Cutting-edge advice on muscle-building diets and performance-enhancing supplements.

  • Iconic Photography: Glossy, dramatic photography of bodybuilding stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, and Ronnie Coleman.

  • The "Girls" Section: A unique staple of the magazine that featured fitness and glamour models, blending bodybuilding with lifestyle content.

Under Robert Kennedy’s passionate leadership, MuscleMag championed the sport for nearly four decades. Following Kennedy’s passing in 2012, the magazine was eventually sold and officially ceased publication in June 2013. Today, it is highly collectible, especially the "Special Collector's Editions" and early vintage issues from the 70s and 80s.
