Collection: Swarovski Salt Magazine

Salt Magazine (stylized as SALT) was the premium biannual publication from the world-renowned crystal house, Swarovski. Launched in September 2010, it was born from the merger of two previous Swarovski titles, Crystallized and Rocks. The magazine served as a high-end showcase for the brand’s global influence on fashion, jewelry, architecture, and contemporary art.

More than just a brand catalog, SALT was a legitimate high-fashion glossy, published in partnership with major media houses like Condé Nast (from 2016). It was known for its "crystal-clear" photography and avant-garde art direction, celebrating how Swarovski crystals were integrated into the work of the world’s most creative minds.

Key highlights for collectors include:

  • The Launch Issue (2010): Featuring exclusive interviews with architectural legend Zaha Hadid and designer Konstantin Grcic, it set a high bar for luxury brand publishing.

  • Designer Collaborations: Every issue featured deep dives into Swarovski’s work with icons like Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, Mary Katrantzou, and Iris Apfel.

  • Global Versions: To reflect its elite international audience, the magazine was published in multiple languages, including English, Mandarin, and Japanese.

  • The "Art of Crystal" Features: Stunning, oversized photo spreads that focused on the technical and artistic beauty of crystal-enhanced interiors and haute couture.

While the SALT title was the public-facing "design bible," it lived alongside the SCS Magazine (exclusive to the Swarovski Crystal Society). For collectors of fashion history and luxury design, vintage copies of SALT are highly prized for their unique mix of technical craftsmanship and high-style editorial content.
