Original UK Maxim Magazine from July 2000, Issue 63, featuring Joanna Taylor as the main cover girl. A very typical turn-of-the-millennium Maxim issue combining celebrity interviews, television personalities, glamour photography, fashion, humour, gadgets, sport and lifestyle features.
The main cover is dominated by Joanna Taylor, best known at the time for Hollyoaks, photographed in a white bikini against a blue background. The cover promotes her return with the large “And It’s Hollyoaks!” headline.
Featured Contents
The photographed contents pages confirm a good selection of celebrity and lifestyle material, including:
- Joanna Taylor – main cover girl and substantial feature around page 98.
- Beverley Turner – feature around page 114, accompanied by a full glamour fashion spread. One photographed double-page feature is headed “Slam Dunked” and relates to her role around the NBA 2000 basketball coverage.
- Alice Cooper – interview/content around page 32.
- Ali Landry – photographed within the contents section.
- Features covering relationships, true crime, fashion, technology, motoring, humour and lifestyle.
- A “Live Like A Lord” society feature.
- Articles involving the LAPD and crime.
- Fashion and shopping sections.
- Competitions and technology/gadget coverage typical of Maxim during this era.
The issue is a substantial glossy publication and gives a particularly good snapshot of British men's lifestyle publishing around 2000, with numerous full-page photographs, advertisements and period-specific celebrity content.
Condition – PLEASE READ
This copy has significant visible wear and damage, especially to the covers, and should be purchased as a reading/collector copy rather than a high-grade example.
Visible condition points include:
- Heavy damage across the upper edge of the front cover.
- A sizeable section of the printed top layer has been torn/peeled away across much of the upper cover, affecting part of the masthead and top border.
- Considerable surface rubbing, scuffing and abrasion across the front.
- Several areas of print loss/white abrasion, particularly towards the lower-left portion of the cover.
- General scratches and handling marks.
- Edge and corner wear throughout.
- Some creasing and waviness from age/use.
- Spine shows age-related handling wear.
- Interior pages shown remain attached and readable with strong colour.
- The photographed Beverley Turner spread appears intact and presents well internally.
- The back cover has substantial surface deterioration, with large areas of rubbing/peeling and loss to the printed Jack Daniel's advertisement.
- Noticeable marks and staining/residue are also visible on the rear.
- Overall this is clearly used and well-worn, but the magazine remains a useful original period copy with the principal editorial content present in the photographed areas.
Please study all supplied photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
