Maxim Magazine March 2002 DAMAGED Jennifer Ellison Charisma Carpenter Dani Behr SKU 1550

Original Maxim Magazine – March 2002, a particularly collectable early-2000s UK issue built around a TV Girls Special and featuring an unusual large multi-panel fold-out cover.

The principal cover star is Jennifer Ellison, then strongly associated with Brookside. When the original cover is unfolded, further full-size cover panels reveal Dani Behr and Charisma Carpenter, with Katy Hill also advertised on the outer panel.

Featured Women & Contents

This issue has a strong television and celebrity focus, with the photographed contents confirming substantial features on:

• Jennifer Ellison – major feature beginning around page 86, with the contents describing the Brookside star and her lingerie-themed shoot.
• Charisma Carpenter – feature around page 94, associated with Angel and Buffy.
• Dani Behr – feature around page 102.
• Katy Hill – feature around page 108, associated with Blue Peter.

The photographed Jennifer Ellison article is headed “Sex Kitten” as part of the TV Girls Special, with a glossy double-page glamour shoot using dramatic lighting and animal-print styling.

Other personalities and subjects listed inside include Snoop Dogg, Bob Hoskins, Gordon Ramsay, Richard Madeley and a broad mix of contemporary entertainment, fashion, gadgets, motoring, humour and lifestyle material.

Additional contents visible include articles on unusual survival stories, gaming/computers, fashion, cars, relationships and contemporary early-2000s popular culture.

Large Original Fold-Out Cover

One of the best features of this particular issue is that the large original fold-out cover is still present.

The cover is specifically advertised as “HUGE FOLD OUT” and “Pull Out! Cover”. When opened out, it creates a wide multi-panel display featuring:

• Jennifer Ellison on the main front panel in white lingerie.
• Dani Behr on the centre panel in a black corset-style outfit.
• Charisma Carpenter on the adjoining panel in a large glamour portrait.
• Smaller photographs advertising Dani Behr, Charisma Carpenter and Katy Hill down the outer section.

This is an integral folding cover feature rather than a separate loose insert, and it remains attached in the copy shown.

Condition

Pre-owned vintage condition with noticeable wear. Please study all photographs carefully.

Visible condition points include:

• Noticeable surface rubbing, scuffs and handling marks to the front cover.
• Several visible marks/scuffs across the Jennifer Ellison cover image.
• Creasing and bending associated with the large fold-out cover, particularly along its manufactured folds and projecting outer panels.
• General edge and corner wear.
• Some wear around the spine and lower edges.
• The fold-out remains attached and opens fully as photographed.
• Interior pages shown appear generally well bound, with strong colour and good print quality.
• The Jennifer Ellison interior feature appears clean and vibrant in the photographed pages.
• The back cover has noticeable surface damage/abrasion and areas of paper loss or residue, particularly around the lower-right/lower section. This is clearly visible in the final photograph and should be considered when purchasing.
• General age-related storage and handling wear throughout.

This is not a mint copy, but the survival of the original elaborate fold-out cover makes it an interesting collector example.
