Official Nintendo Magazine Poster Punch-Out Little Mac King Hippo 22 May SKU 1534

Original Official Nintendo Magazine double-sided fold-out poster featuring Punch-Out!! / Little Mac vs King Hippo artwork.

This is a particularly attractive Nintendo gaming collectible because the two sides deliberately recreate a boxing-promotion poster from two different eras, with the first side styled as an old 1987 championship fight bill and the reverse presenting the 2009 rematch in full colour.

POSTER DETAILS

Side 1 – 22 May 1987

Designed in a deliberately aged, vintage boxing-poster style with pixel-art versions of Little Mac and King Hippo.

Large headlines include:

“IT'S DAVID VERSUS GOLIATH!”
“THE MAIN EVENT”
“LITTLE MAC V KING HIPPO”
“WORLD VIDEO BOXING ASSOCIATION”
“CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT”
“LIVE AT THE NES ARENA, 22 MAY 1987”

Little Mac is labelled “The Challenger”, while King Hippo is labelled “The Champ”.

This side uses monochrome/pixel-style character graphics and an intentionally distressed cream, black and red design that mimics an old boxing bill.

REVERSE – 22 MAY 2009

The reverse is a colourful modern rematch poster with full illustrated versions of Little Mac and King Hippo.

Headlines include:

“A SHOWDOWN 22 YEARS IN THE MAKING!”
“THE MAIN EVENT”
“THE REMATCH THEY SAID WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!”
“WVBA TITLE FIGHT”
“LITTLE MAC V KING HIPPO”
“LIVE ON YOUR Wii FROM 22 MAY 2009”

Little Mac is shown in his familiar green boxing gloves and boxing kit, while King Hippo appears with purple gloves, crown and orange trunks.

The bottom carries Nintendo / The Official Nintendo Magazine branding, and the artwork is identified as Punch-Out!! artwork © 2009 Nintendo Co., Ltd.

SIZE

From the measurement guide visible in the photographs, the poster is approximately 80 cm tall and roughly 55–60 cm wide when fully opened.

Please treat this as an approximate measurement.

CONDITION

Pre-owned collectible condition.

The photographs show:

• The poster has been originally folded, with prominent horizontal and vertical fold lines.
• Multiple intersecting creases are visible from storage and folding.
• The 1987-style side has noticeable age-toned / brown discolouration and staining around the outer borders and along some fold lines.
• There is general surface marking, rubbing and handling wear.
• Edges show some wear, small creases and minor roughness.
• Corners show visible handling and storage wear.
• There are some smaller wrinkles and stress marks around the folds.
• The 2009 colour side remains bright and vivid, with strong green, yellow, black and white colouring.
• No major section appears to be missing from the supplied photographs.

The visible ageing on the 1987 side works well with its deliberately retro fight-poster design, but buyers should be aware that there is also genuine storage and handling wear present.

Please inspect all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.
