Zoo Magazine 1-7 April 2011 Jenny Thompson Wayne Rooney JWOWW SKU 1557

Original Zoo Magazine dated 1-7 April 2011, featuring Jenny Thompson prominently on the front cover and in a substantial interior feature connected with the Wayne Rooney story.

This issue is a strong example of early-2010s Zoo, mixing celebrity and glamour photography with football, comedy, television and topical entertainment.

The cover promotes Jenny Thompson with the headline surrounding the well-publicised Rooney story, and the photographed interior confirms a multi-page feature beginning on pages 36-37. The feature includes a large full-page image of Jenny Thompson alongside an article discussing footballers and her connection to Wayne Rooney and Jack Rodwell.

Other visible content includes:

• JWOWW / Jenni Farley – promoted as an American reality TV star
• Jenny Thompson – major cover and interior feature
• Wayne Rooney – prominently connected to the lead feature
• Paul Merson
• Jason Button / Jenson Button-related F1 content
• Alan Partridge
• Greg Davies
• Sepp Blatter / FIFA coverage
• Mother’s Day feature covering well-known celebrity mums including Liz Hurley, Jennifer Aniston and Geri Halliwell
• April Fools’ pranks
• Football, entertainment and topical humour typical of Zoo Magazine from this period

The contents page also gives a good snapshot of Zoo’s editorial style at the time, combining celebrity features, football, comedy, sport and lifestyle material.
