Condition

Pre-owned original magazine in good used condition for its age.

The front cover remains bright, colourful and highly presentable, with the large ZOO masthead, issue graphics and photographs displaying clearly. There is light general handling and storage wear, including minor rubbing/scuffing, slight edge wear and small corner knocks/creasing consistent with a magazine from 2005.

The spine appears secure and intact, and the magazine remains together well. Internal pages shown are clean and readable with strong colour reproduction. There is some light page curvature and normal handling wear, but no major tears, heavy staining or writing are apparent in the supplied photographs.

The included 16-page pullout/archive section is visibly still present inside the magazine, which is an important point for collectors.

Please study all supplied photographs carefully, as they form part of the condition description.

Magazine Details

Publication: ZOO Magazine
Issue: 61
Full Date: 8–14 April 2005
Original Price: £1.20
Format: Weekly men's entertainment / lifestyle magazine
Special Feature: Free 16-page pullout / archive section

This is an original mid-2000s issue of ZOO Magazine, packed with the mixture of celebrity features, football, comedy, television, films, motoring and model photography that made the title one of the best-known British men's weekly magazines of the period.

Main Cover Features

The cover is dominated by the magazine's special “Naked Issue” presentation and advertises 23 celebrity/model features alongside a free 16-page archive section.

Several cover photographs are individually labelled, including:

  • Jordan
  • Pammie
  • Nell
  • Kelly

The issue therefore has particularly strong appeal to collectors of early/mid-2000s glamour and British men's magazine material.

Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais is prominently advertised across the very top of the front cover.

The magazine promotes material covering:

  • Extras
  • His then-new tour
  • Les Dennis

Ricky Gervais is also pictured on the internal contents page, where the feature is listed around page 32.

This gives the issue additional interest for collectors of British comedy and television memorabilia from the 2000s.

Kirsty Gallagher

The upper-right section of the front cover prominently asks:

“Just how fit is Kirsty Gallagher?”

with an accompanying image and a feature advertising expert opinions inside.

This is another strong period television/sports-media feature from the issue.

Football Content

Football is a substantial part of this particular issue.

The front cover heavily promotes The ZOO Football Awards, with the text:

“You give gongs to Gerrard, Motty and Kilmarnock?!”

A photograph of Gerrard holding a ZOO Football Fans' Census 2005 award is prominently displayed.

The contents page also advertises sporting features involving:

  • Newcastle United
  • Tiger Woods
  • Grand National coverage
  • Fantasy football
  • Football-related news and awards

This gives the magazine good crossover appeal for collectors of 2000s football memorabilia as well as ZOO collectors.

Free 16-Page Pullout / Archive

Importantly, the photographs show the advertised FREE 16-PAGE PULLOUT physically present inside the magazine.

The photographed introductory page uses a gold-coloured layout with large typography and describes the section as a celebration/archive feature.

Further photographs show material from the pullout, including individually labelled archive images such as:

  • Kerry
  • Jordan
  • Emma B
  • Kelly

The section appears to form an integral multi-page special rather than merely being advertised on the cover, making its presence important to mention for completeness.

Other Magazine Content

The photographed contents page shows the broad range of material included in Issue 61.

Features include entertainment stories, celebrity material and motoring coverage.

Girls

The issue's large photographic archive/special section forms one of its principal selling points.

Collector Appeal

A particularly characteristic 2005 ZOO Magazine issue combining several areas of mid-2000s popular culture.

Strong points include:

  • Issue 61
  • Full 8–14 April 2005 date
  • Ricky Gervais feature
  • Kirsty Gallagher feature
  • ZOO Football Awards
  • Gerrard football content
  • Original 2000s celebrity/model photography
  • 16-page pullout/archive still present
  • British comedy, television and football content

It should appeal particularly to collectors of ZOO Magazine back issues, 2000s British men's magazines, football memorabilia and early-2000s celebrity culture.

Postage & Packaging

The magazine will be carefully protected before dispatch.

Depending on the final parcel size, it will be securely packed using sturdy cardboard and/or protective bubble wrap, with particular care taken around the front and rear covers, spine, corners and page edges to reduce the risk of bending, crushing or other transit damage.
